CNB Bordeaux 60 ''Osprey'' WINS again at the 2010 JP Morgan Asset Management Round The Island Race
This annual race around the isle od Wight took place on the 19th June 2010, organized by the Island Sailing Club. It is one of the largest yacht races in the world and the fourth largest participation sporting event in the UK after the London Marathon and the great North ans South Runs.
The event attracted 1754 entries this year to follow the 50 nautical mile course around the isle of
The race is split into two main classes, ISC (Island Sailing Club) Rating Division & IRC rating Division
Out of 869 entries 822 yachts finished in the ISC class of this years race and included notably an Oyster 62, 56, 54 & 51, a Discovery 55, a Swan 47 and an X412 as well as a mix of numerous production cruisers racers.
Conditions were pretty much ideal with a light North / North Easterly wind and vright sunshine at the start. the wind built steadly all day reaching around 16-18 knots as the yachts sailed around the back of the Isle od Wight before finishing off the entrance od Cowes.
Finishing in 6hrs 54 mins ''Osprey'' won tje lloyds Bank Trophy for the First ISC Rating system boat to finish. She also collected the Crankshaw Bowl for Overall Winner in ISC Group 4 and came 1st in ISC Class 4A.
After a brilliant victory in 2009, this second win of Mr Nickolas Imregi's CNB Bordeaux 60 confirms the boat's speed potential in various wind conditions
